Preschool Program

Our Program…

KCS LogoWe strive for an academically-oriented and balanced program for our preschoolers. Teachers use a structured but flexible method of teaching. Christ-like values such as respect, honesty, self-control, patience, good manners and kindness are emphasized. In the classroom various techniques are used to teach. These techniques include learning centers, small and large group activities, art, handwriting, one-on-one discussions and lessons and free play.

The preschool is approved by the Tennessee Department of Education. Both the Three and Four-Year-Old programs have well equipped classrooms where age appropriate toys, learning activities and play centers are used to supplement units taught. We understand that children learn and retain more through hands-on activities and we strive to offer this particular learning process.

Areas of study are weekly/monthly units, Bible characters, letter and number recognition, math and phonics. Teachers work together in order to build a strong curriculum which allows the three-year-old class to lay a foundation for the four-year-old class to build upon. The goal is to prepare each student for necessary kindergarten expectations.

Note from Preschool Director

There are no gifts greater than our children and the privilege of training and molding them. At Knoxville Christian School, our teachers are dedicated to working with each child by protecting and nurturing them and inspiring and challenging them to do their best. While spiritual growth is the foundation upon which we seek to build, the child’s emotional, social, and physical needs are given great priority as well. We strive to offer well-rounded activities and an excellent curriculum in a safe and friendly environment.

I hope you will choose Knoxville Christian School as your child’s home away from home.
