Lakyn Williamson graduated from William Carey University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She brings seven years of experience within the public education system and currently joined the KCS family as a high school and middle school English teacher, as well as Spanish I and II teacher.
The foundation of her teaching philosophy lies in close reading and interpretation, critical literary analysis, and rich academic discussion. She feels that students should take ownership of their education, while their teachers should be their greatest advocates and supporters during the course of their educational career. As she provides rigorous instruction in the areas of grammar, literature, and composition, Mrs. Williamson believes that God has called her to teach students “to present [themselves] to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth,” as 2 Timothy 2:15 states.
