Demographics


KCS is located in the Farragut city limits on 16.2 square miles of land area. Farragut is a rapidly growing suburban community where professionals who are employed at UTK, ORNL, DOE, and TVA. The median household income is about 50% higher than the average state income according to 2009 statistics. There are approximately 20 public schools within 5 miles and approximately 20 private schools within 9 miles ranging from Preschool through 12th grade.

The diversity of the KCS student body is impressive in the range of countries it represents. Through our exchange program, we have hosted students from 15 countries since 2006. In addition to the exchange students we are certified by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to provide I-20 eligibility for foreign students to study in the U.S. The impact on our own student body can be seen in acceptance of cultural differences and friendships formed. Eight new international/exchange students have broadened our students’ world view.

Knoxville Christian School also provides a home school umbrella program for grades Kindergarten through 8th and an independent study satellite program for grades 9th through 12th. There are over 200 students who participate in those programs.
